About the Wrinklebottoms

The Wrinklebottoms are a small Sphynx household in their fifth year, known for dominant odd eyes, an unreasonable wardrobe, and a standing appointment with a camera.

Who we are

We started in 2021 and have stayed deliberately small. Every cat here lives in the house, not in a cattery block — they sleep on the furniture, supervise the cooking, and turn up in the middle of every conversation. The couture came later, and only because they clearly enjoyed it.

We breed Sphynx, and only Sphynx. The one hairless exception in the house is Donald, our deaf mascot, who is a Donskoy — he is neutered, he takes no part in the breeding programme, and he is here because he is family.

What we specialise in

Dominant odd eyes — one blue, one green or gold — which is the trait the cattery is best known for and the reason breeders and buyers find us. Devil is the clearest example of it in the house.

Health and testing

Nothing here is left to chance or good intentions:

• FeLV and FIV negative — the whole household.
• hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) scanned — hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the condition that matters most in this breed, so the cats are scanned rather than assumed clear.
• DNA tested — for the coat and health markers that carry in Sphynx lines.
• Formal training in genetics and behaviour — the pairings and the kitten raising are decided on what the testing and the behaviour actually say.

The modelling

Somewhere along the way the cats became models. They wear pieces from independent pet-couture makers, sit for studio portraits, and have built an audience of more than thirteen thousand people on Instagram. Bubbles is the one the designers ask for by name; Duke shows his belly unprompted; Donald is deaf and completely unbothered by it.
