Terms of Use and Sale

1. Who we are
The Wrinklebottoms website, www.wrinklebottom.com (the “site”), is run by The Wrinklebottoms (“we”, “us”, “our”), which also sells our kittens and First Look. Mailing address: the contact form at wrinklebottom.com/contact/. You can reach us through the contact form at wrinklebottom.com/contact/.
2. What these terms cover
These terms apply when you use the site, buy First Look, or reserve or buy a kitten. Our Refund and Cancellation Policy and our Privacy Notice form part of these terms. When you buy a kitten, you also sign a written Kitten Sale Agreement. If it conflicts with these terms, the Kitten Sale Agreement applies to that kitten.
3. Articles on the site
Our Journal is general information from our experience living with and breeding Sphynx cats. It isn’t veterinary advice. Ask your own vet about your cat’s health, diet, skin, heart or medication.
4. Affiliate links, discount codes and partnerships
Some links and discount codes on the site earn us a commission, and some makers send our cats products or pay us for modelling. We say which on each page and in our Affiliate and Editorial Disclosure. If you buy through an affiliate link or code, you’re buying from that retailer or maker, not from us. Their prices, delivery, returns and warranties apply.
5. First Look
5.1 Price. First Look is a once-off, non-refundable payment of US$100. It entitles you to a once-off US$100 discount on any kitten purchase.
5.2 Term. First Look lasts 12 months from the date you buy it.
5.3 What you get during your term:
(a) Pairing notes: an email when we plan a mating, with the expected timing and the kittens we expect;
(b) Priority litter notice: an email about each new litter, with photos, before we offer any of its kittens to our enquiry list or the public;
(c) A 72-hour priority window: 72 hours from our litter email to tell us you’d like to reserve a kitten from that litter, before anyone who isn’t on First Look. First Look members are offered kittens in the order they joined First Look;
(d) The First Look discount: US$100 off the price of one kitten you buy from us (see 5.4).
5.4 The First Look discount.
(a) It’s a once-off discount on the price of one kitten, and it has no cash value.
(b) It can be used on a kitten you reserve during your term or up to 90 days after your term ends. After that it expires.
(c) There’s one discount per First Look purchase, and it can’t be combined with other kitten discounts unless we agree in writing.
(d) Your First Look and its discount can be transferred to a member of your household. Just ask us through the contact form.
5.5 What First Look is not. It doesn’t reserve a kitten, and we don’t guarantee that a kitten will be available to you during your term, or a kitten of a particular sex, colour, pattern or eye colour. Every kitten is placed only after a conversation with us and a signed Kitten Sale Agreement, and we may decline to sell a kitten to any household if we don’t believe it’s the right home for that kitten.
5.6 Refunds. First Look is non-refundable, except in the cases in our Refund and Cancellation Policy (for example, a duplicate charge, or if we close First Look or stop breeding before offering you any litter during your term), and except where the law requires a refund.
6. Kittens
6.1 Enquiries. Sending an enquiry or buying First Look doesn’t reserve a kitten or commit either of us to a sale.
6.2 What we tell you before you pay. Before you pay any reservation amount, we give you, in writing in your Kitten Sale Agreement: where your kitten was born and raised; the breeder’s name and address; the kitten’s date of birth; its vaccinations and deworming to date; any known illness or condition; the price, reservation amount and payment dates; our health guarantee; and the handover arrangements. Please read it before you pay. If anything in it changes your mind, you don’t have to go ahead.
6.3 Reservation. A kitten is reserved only when: we’ve spoken with you (usually by video call); we’ve both agreed on the kitten; you’ve signed the Kitten Sale Agreement; and you’ve paid the reservation amount. The reservation amount, when it’s due, and when it’s refundable are confirmed in writing in your Kitten Sale Agreement before you pay any reservation amount. It’s part of the kitten price.
6.4 Price, tax and payment. Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax is added where it applies and shown on your invoice. The balance is due at or before handover, as your Kitten Sale Agreement says. We don’t offer financing, pay-later plans or pet leases for kittens.
6.5 Age and health at handover. Kittens go to their new homes no earlier than 12 weeks, and only when a licensed vet has examined them and confirmed they’re healthy and fit to travel.
6.6 Handover. The time, place and method of handover are agreed with you individually, in writing in your Kitten Sale Agreement, before you pay any reservation amount. Ownership of and responsibility for the kitten pass to you at handover.
6.7 What comes with your kitten. A microchip; the vet health, vaccination and sale documents listed in your Kitten Sale Agreement; a written kitten record; spay/neuter and vet-care information; a care guide; and our written health guarantee. Registration details, if any, are confirmed in writing in your Kitten Sale Agreement before you pay any reservation amount.
6.8 If we can’t hand over the kitten. If, before handover, the kitten dies, becomes seriously ill, is found unfit to travel or be sold, can’t be handed over as agreed for any other reason, or we otherwise can’t complete the sale for reasons that aren’t your fault, you choose either a full refund of everything you’ve paid towards that kitten or a comparable kitten from a current or future litter. Your First Look discount stays available to you.
6.9 Health guarantee and take-back. Our health guarantee is confirmed in writing in your Kitten Sale Agreement before you pay any reservation amount. If you ever can’t keep your cat, it comes back to us. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer or pet-sale laws of your state.
6.10 Travelling with your kitten after handover. If you take your kitten to another state or country after handover, you’re responsible for that place’s entry rules (some require a vet’s certificate or rabies vaccination above a set age). We’ll gladly help with records.
7. Comments
By posting a comment, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish it on the site. Don’t post anything unlawful, defamatory or abusive, or that infringes anyone’s rights. We may moderate or remove comments.
8. Our content
The photos, text, the Wrinklebottoms name and the cats’ images belong to us or our licensors. You may share links and short quotes with credit. Please don’t copy photos or articles without permission.
9. Accuracy and availability
We try to keep information accurate and up to date, but mistakes happen. If we’ve shown a wrong price for First Look, we’ll tell you before charging you, and you can cancel. We may change or stop parts of the site at any time.
10. Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right or remedy you have under laws that can’t be excluded by contract, including the consumer-protection and pet-sale laws of your state.
11. Liability
As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for loss from relying on general information on the site, from products bought from other retailers through our links, or from the site being unavailable. Our total liability to you in connection with First Look is limited to the amount you paid for it. This clause doesn’t limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or where the law doesn’t allow a limit.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle personal information.
13. Ending First Look
We may end your First Look if you break these terms or are abusive towards us. If we end it for any other reason, we’ll refund you in full.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms by posting a new version with a new date. Changes don’t apply to a First Look purchase or kitten sale already paid for, unless you agree.
15. Complaints
Please contact us first through the contact form. We reply within 5 business days. You can also contact your state attorney general’s consumer protection office.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming. You keep any protection given to you by the law of the state where you live or where your kitten is handed over.
